About this journal
SIRIUS – Zeitschrift für Strategische Analysen (SIRIUS – Journal of Strategic Analysis) addresses key strategic challenges and offers policy options in the areas of security, foreign affairs, and defence. It serves as an established forum for academics and practitioners from Germany as well as those beyond, to engage with German-speaking policy and scholarly security communities. The journal publishes innovative reflections, ensuring their high quality through a peer-review process. Its in-depth analyses are directed not only at an academic audience but also at an interested public. Th e journal’s aim is to inform and shape security policy debates in a forward-looking manner, addressing regional and global challenges within the German-speaking world. With its distinctive profile, SIRIUS fulfils a recognized and unique role, particularly in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
SIRIUS positions itself as a facilitator, connecting the multiple strands of strategic analysis. The journal addresses both traditional and cross-cutting strategic questions. In addition, it features contributions on short- and long-term regional and domestic developments with implications for international security, as well as issues related to internal security and intelligence studies. The journal also publishes contributions of a historical and theoretical nature, aimed at deepening the understanding of strategic interrelations.
