Abstract
Discourse Linguistics and Discourse Studies do not focus their analyses on singular texts but on entire discourses, which are analysed considering criteria like power and ideology whereby they relate discourses to society. The article gives an insight into different Discourse Studies traditions, systematises them locally and temporally and offers additional insights.
