Global Mental Health: The relevance of implementing low intensity psychological interventions in Germany

Abstract
Global Mental Health addresses the rising burden of mental disorders and the widening care gap associated with it. In many countries, low-intensity psychological interventions are implemented as an initial step in providing community-based care. This article explores the potential applicability of such interventions in Germany. It presents Project HOME, which investigates the implementability of Problem Management Plus (PM+) among refugees in Germany.
Zusammenfassung
Global Mental Health befasst sich mit der zunehmenden Krankheitslast von psychischen Störungen und der damit einhergehenden Versorgungslücke. In vielen Ländern werden niedrigschwellige psychologische Interventionen als erster Schritt einer gemeindenahen Versorgung angeboten. In diesem Artikel wird die potenzielle Anwendbarkeit solcher Interventionen in Deutschland diskutiert. Das Projekt HOME wird vorgestellt, welches die Umsetzbarkeit von Problem Management Plus (PM+) bei Flüchtlingen in Deutschland untersucht.
