Bremen Active Schools: Promoting physical activity in primary school children

Abstract
To effectively promote physical activity (PA) in primary school children, the ACTIPROS toolbox was developed, offering a choice of 12 interventions. The feasibility trial indicated that intervention classes successfully implemented at least one intervention and suggested an increase of ~25 percentage points of children meeting PA guidelines. The ACTIPROS toolbox is now integrated into the Bremen Active Schools framework, which will be implemented in the Federal State of Bremen, Germany, in the next five years.
Zusammenfassung
Zur Förderung der körperlichen Aktivität bei Grundschulkindern wurde die ACTIPROS-Toolbox entwickelt, die eine Auswahl von 12 Interventionen enthält. Die Machbarkeitsstudie zeigte, dass die Interventionsklassen mindestens eine Intervention erfolgreich umsetzten, und deutete auf einen Anstieg von ~25 Prozentpunkten der Kinder hin, die die Bewegungsempfehlungen einhalten. Die Toolbox wird in die Bremen Active Schools integriert, die in den nächsten fünf Jahren im Bundesland Bremen, Deutschland, eingeführt werden soll.
