Scope of the Special Issue

The special issue Recent Trends in Mathematical Biology – Theory, Methods, and Applications delves into the latest developments at the intersection of mathematics and biology. As biological systems become more complex and the available data are more abundant, the role of mathematical modeling, computational tools, and quantitative approaches is pivotal in unraveling the intricacies of life sciences. This issue invites contributions that bridge theoretical advancements with real-world applications, offering new perspectives on critical biological phenomena.

The “National Conference on Recent Trends in Mathematical Biology – Theory, Methods, and Applications” is being organized by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (DMACS), Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), A.P., India during July 20–22, 2023 at the Prasanthi Nilayam Campus.

The main focus of this In-Person conference is to provide a stage for the sharing of knowledge regarding the development of mathematical models in biological systems, tools, and techniques used for the qualitative study of the systems.

This conference will provide a vibrant platform to bring together the scientists, researchers, educators, and PG students across academia, corporate organization and industry to exchange valuable ideas and impart guidelines on technical research and developments. Thus, the conference intends to bring together the best minds across the country to cover all the aspects of biomathematics from a multi-disciplinary perspective, in view of NEP-2020.

Based on talks to be presented in this conference, research articles pertaining to these talks will also be published in this special issue.

Key areas of focus include the following:

  • Mathematical Biology

  • Mathematical Modelling: Ecology and Epidemiology

  • Computational Modelling

  • Parameter Estimation

  • Predicative Analytics

  • Uncertainty
