Let κ[[eG]] be the field of generalized power series with exponents in a totally ordered Abelian group G and coefficients in a field κ. Given a subgroup H of G such that G/H is finitely generated, we construct a vector space ΩG/H of differentials as a universal object in certain category of κ[[eH]]-derivations on κ[[eG]]. The vector space ΩG/H together with logarithmic residues gives rise to a framework for certain combinatorial phenomena, including the inversion formula for diagonal delta sets.

Let m be an infinite cardinal. Inspired by a result of Sikorski on m-representability of Boolean algebras, we introduce the notion of r m-distributive lattice ordered group. We prove that the collection of all such lattice ordered groups is a radical class. Using the mentioned notion, we define and investigate a homogeneity condition for lattice ordered groups.

Our main purpose is to describe the recurrence relation associated to the sum of diagonal elements laying along a finite ray crossing Pascal’s triangle. We precise the generating function of the sequence of described sums. We also answer a question of Horadam posed in his paper [Chebyshev and Pell connections, Fibonacci Quart. 43 (2005), 108–121]. Further, using Morgan-Voyce sequence, we establish the nice identity $F_{n + 1} - iF_n = i^n \sum\limits_{k = 0}^n {(_{2k}^{n + k} )( - 2 - i)^k } $ of Fibonacci numbers, where i is the imaginary unit. Finally, connections to continued fractions, bivariate polynomials and finite differences are given.

The main purpose of this paper is using the analytic methods and the properties of character sums to study the computational problem of several kind character sums of polynomials mod q, an odd square-full number, and give two interesting identities for them.

In this note we give a characterization of finite groups of order pq 3 (p, q primes) that fail to satisfy the Converse of Lagrange’s Theorem.

Let I ⊂ ℝ be an interval and Y a reflexive Banach space. We introduce the (H) property of a multifunction F from I × Y to Y and prove that the Carathéodory superposition of F with each continuous function f from I to Y is a derivative provided that F has the (H) property. Some application of this theorem to the existence of solutions of differential inclusions f′(x) ∈ F(x, f(x)) is given.

The purpose of the present paper is to determine univalence conditions of certain integral operators.

In the paper we offer criteria for property (A) of the third-order nonlinear functional differential equation with advanced argument $(a(t)(x'(t))^\gamma )'' + p(t)f(x(\sigma (t))) = 0,$, where $\mathop \smallint \limits^\infty a^{ - 1/\gamma } (s)ds = \infty $. We establish new comparison theorems for deducing property (A) of advanced differential equations from that of ordinary differential equations without deviating argument. The presented comparison principle fill the gap in the oscillation theory.

In this paper, oscillatory and asymptotic properties of solutions of nonlinear fourth order neutral dynamic equations of the form $(r(t)(y(t) + p(t)y(\alpha _1 (t)))^{\Delta ^2 } )^{\Delta ^2 } + q(t)G(y(\alpha _2 (t))) - h(t)H(y(\alpha _3 (t))) = 0(H)$ and $(r(t)(y(t) + p(t)y(\alpha _1 (t)))^{\Delta ^2 } )^{\Delta ^2 } + q(t)G(y(\alpha _2 (t))) - h(t)H(y(\alpha _3 (t))) = f(t),(NH)$ are studied on a time scale $\mathbb{T}$ under the assumption that $\int\limits_{t_0 }^\infty {\tfrac{t} {{r(t)}}\Delta t = \infty } $ and for various ranges of p(t). In addition, sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of bounded positive solutions of the equation (NH) by using Krasnosel’skii’s fixed point theorem.

This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of a p-Landau-Lifschitz type functional with radial structure as parameter goes to zero. We study the concentration compactness properties in the case of p ≥ n where n is the dimension. By analyzing the functional globally, we show that the singularity of p-Landau-Lifschitz energy concentrates on the origin.

We investigate the regularity of extremal solutions to some p-Laplacian Dirichlet problems with strong nonlinearities. Under adequate assumptions we prove the smoothness of the extremal solutions for some classes of nonlinearities. Our results suggest that the extremal solution’s boundedness for some range of dimensions depends on the nonlinearity f.

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions of a neutral difference equation of the form $\Delta [x(n) + cx(\tau (n))] - p(n)x)(\sigma (n)) = 0,$, where τ(n) is a general retarded argument, σ(n) is a general deviated argument, c ∈ ℝ, (−p(n))n≥0 is a sequence of negative real numbers such that p(n) ≥ p, p ∈ ℝ+, and Δ denotes the forward difference operator Δx(n) = x(n+1)−x(n).

Quite recently Jankov and Pogány [JANKOV, D.—POGÁNY, T. K.: Integral representation of Schlömilch series, J. Classical Anal. 1 (2012) 75–84] derived a double integral representation of the Kapteyn-type series of Bessel functions. Here we completely describe the class of functions Λ = {α}, which generate the mentioned integral representation in the sense that the restrictions $\alpha |_\mathbb{N} = (\alpha _n )_{n \in \mathbb{N}} $ is the sequence of coefficients of the input Kapteyn-type series.

Let G be a locally compact abelian group with a fixed Haar measure and ω be a weight on G. For 1 < p < ∞, we study uniqueness of uniform and C*-norm properties of the invariant weighted algebra L p(G, ω).

The paper is devoted to so-called local and 2-local derivations on the noncommutative Arens algebra L ω(M,τ) associated with a von Neumann algebra M and a faithful normal semi-finite trace τ. We prove that every 2-local derivation on L ω(M,τ) is a spatial derivation, and if M is a finite von Neumann algebra, then each local derivation on L ω(M,τ) is also a spatial derivation and every 2-local derivation on M is in fact an inner derivation.

In this paper we describe the structure of surjective isometries of the space of all generalized probability distribution functions on ℝ with respect to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov metric.

In this paper, the class of total asymptotically nonexpansive mappings is considered. A weak convergence theorem of Mann-type iterative algorithm is established. Hybrid projection methods are considered for the class of total asymptotically nonexpansive mappings. Strong convergence theorems are also established in the framework of Hilbert spaces.

We generalize the results of Sehgal and Guseman for mappings on a complete metric space with a contractive iterate condition at each point.

An η-Einstein condition is introduced in the context of indefinite globally framed f-manifolds, and several Schur-type results for indefinite S-manifolds are proved.

We introduce a family of q-analogues of the binomial distribution, which generalises the Stieltjes-Wigert-, Rogers-Szegö-, and Kemp-distribution. Basic properties of this family are provided and several convergence results involving the classical binomial, Poisson, discrete normal distribution, and a family of q-analogues of the Poisson distribution are established. These results generalize convergence properties of Kemp’s-distribution, and some of them are q-analogues of classical convergence properties.

In this paper, it is proved that if B is a Boolean poset and S is a bounded pseudocomplemented poset such that S\Z(S) = {1}, then Γ(B) ≌ Γ(S) if and only if B ≌ S. Further, we characterize the graphs which can be realized as zero divisor graphs of Boolean posets.
