Anknüpfend an ihren Aufsatz „Bibliothek 2.0 – Die Zukunft der Bibliothek?“ (2006) geben Patrick Danowski und Lambert Heller, verantwortlich für das Schwerpunktthema der vorliegenden Ausgabe, einen Überblick über den erreichten Diskussionsstand über verschiedene Teilaspekte der Bibliothek 2.0 unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der deutschen Fachöffentlichkeit. Einige charakteristische Fragen und Probleme der Weiterentwicklung, Öffnung und Vernetzung bibliothekarischer Dienste und Informationen werden angesprochen. Following up their article „Bibliothek 2.0 – Die Zukunft der Bibliothek?“ („Library 2.0 – The future of the library?“) (2006), Patrick Danowski and Lambert Heller, responsible for the main focus of this issue, give an outline of some recently discussed library 2.0 topics, especially in respect to the professional community in germany. Some characteristic questions and problems of the development, opening and networking of library Services and information are mentioned. En référence à leur article „Bibliothèque 2.0 – l‘avenir de la bibliothèque?“ (2006), Patrick Danowski et Lambert Heller, responsables de la présente édition, donnent un aperçu de l‘état actuel de la discussion sur les différents aspects de la Bibliothèque 2.0 en tenant particulièrement compte de l‘opinion exprimée par les spécialistes en Allemagne. Ils évoquent certains points et problèmes caractéristiques concernant l‘évolution, l‘ouverture et la mise en réseau des services et des informations propres aux bibliothèques.

Ausgehend von einer sich wandelnden Rolle des Nutzers von Informationssystemen im Web 2.0 wird das Konzept Informationskompetenz kritisch hinterfragt. Fünf Thesen zur Informationskompetenz 2.0, verbunden mit Anregungen auf weiterführende Literatur, schlagen einen Pers pektivwechsel der in deutschen Bib liotheken vorherrschenden Sicht auf Informationskompetenz hin zu einem ganzheitlicheren Verständnis von Informations- und Lernprozessen vor. Starting from the changing role of the user in information systems in the Web 2.0 this paper critically questions the concept of information literacy. Five theses on information literacy 2.0 as well as suggestions for further reading offer the possibility to change the perspective of the view on information literacy predominating in German libraries in the direction of a more holistic view of information and learning processes. En partant du rôle se modifiant de l'usager des systèmes d‘information dans le Réseau 2.0, le projet de la maîtrise de l'information est remis en question critiquement. Liée avec des suggestions sur la littérature, cinq thèses sur la maîtrise de l'information proposent une perspective alternative de la vue sur la maîtrise de l'information prédominante aux bibliothèques allemandes, une perspective à une compréhension des procédés d‘information et d‘apprentissage plus intégrante.

Wikipedia und Bibliotheken haben das gleiche Ziel: die einfache und schnelle Wissensvermittlung. Mit der Vernetzung der unterschiedlichen Informationsangebote im Internet wird Wissen umfassend zugänglich gemacht. Ein Beispiel für die Vernetzung zwischen Wikipedia und Bibliothekskatalogen ist die Kooperation mit der Personennamendatei, der Normdatei für Personennamen. Der Artikel möchte beleuchten, wie diese Kooperation funktioniert und welchen Nutzen sie hat. Wikipedia and libraries share the same goal: simple and fast knowledge transfer. Through linking different information resources on the Internet, knowledge gets comprehensively accessible. The co-operation with the Personennamendatei, the German authority file for names of persons is an example for linking between Wikipedia and library catalogs. The article highlights, how this co-operation works and what the benefits are. Wikipédia et les bibliothèques ont le même objectif: une transmission du savoir simple et rapide. La mise en réseau des différentes offres d‘information sur Internet facilite un accès global aux connaissances. L‘interconnexion entre Wikipédia et les catalogues de bibliothèques est illustrée par la collaboration de l‘encyclopédie libre avec le fichier d‘autorité allemand des noms de personnes. L‘article se propose de mettre en lumière le fonctionnement de cette coopération ainsi que son utilité.

Der Artikel beschäftigt sich mit der möglicherweise nächs ten Generation des Internets, nämlich der virtuellen Welt Second Life. In dieser Pa rallelwelt sind schon eine Reihe von Bib liotheken entstanden und organisieren Veranstaltungen, beraten ihre Kunden, bieten also Bibliotheksservices so wie in der realen Welt an. Der Artikel soll einen Überblick über die Bib liotheksarbeit in der virtuellen Welt verschaffen. This article deals with probably the next generation of the internet – which is the virtual universe of Second Life. There are already various libraries in this parallel universe by now and they organize all kinds of events, give advice to their patrons and in general they offer the same library services as in the real world. This article is supposed to give a short overview of the libraries in the virtual world. Dans cet article l'auteur se consacre à la éventuelle prochaine génération de l' Internet, en effet le monde virtuel de Second Life. Dans ce monde parallèle plusieurs bibliothèques ont été créés et organisent évènements, conseillent ses clients, donc elles offrent les mêmes services que dans le monde réel. L'article doit se faire une idée d‘ensemble du monde virtuel.

Die Geschichte informeller, gemeinschaftlich gepflegter Online-Bibliographien sowie die zentralen Konzepte von Social-Bookmarking-Diensten (Bibliographie sozialer Netzwerke, Sacherschließung durch Social Tagging, Folksonomies als persönliche und Collabularies als gemeinschaftliche Vokabulare) werden dargestellt und diskutiert. Zur Charakterisierung der geschilderten Gesamtentwicklung wird der Begriff Metadatenrevolution eingeführt. Es werden Strategien vorgeschlagen, mit denen Bibliotheken und Informationseinrichtungen auf diese Entwicklung eingehen können. The history of collaboratively administered online-bibliographies and the most important concepts of social bookmarking services (bibliography of social networks, classification through social tagging, folksonomies as personal and collabularies as collaborative vocabularies) are being depicted and discussed. To characterize the described development as a whole, the notion of a metadata revolution is being introduced. Strategies for libraries and information facilities responding to this development are proposed. L‘article présente et discute l‘histoire de bibliographies en ligne informelles et développées en communauté ainsi que les concepts centraux des services de gestion et de partage de favoris: bibliographie de réseaux sociaux, indexation matière collective sur la base du „social tagging“, folksonomies (vocabulaires individuels) et collabulaires (vocabulaires collectifs). Le terme de révolution des métadonnées est introduit afin de caractériser ce phénomène dans son extension globale. Pour leur permettre de répondre à ces développements, des stratégies sont proposées aux bibliothèques et aux centres d‘information.

Der Auskunftsdienst kann eine Vielzahl von Instrumenten und Diensten aus dem Web2.0 sinnvoll nutzen. Neben der internen Verwendung von Weblogs und Wikis können BibliothekarInnen ihr Wissen auch auf neuen Peer-to-Peer-Auskunftsplattformen einbringen. Der Artikel zeigt Anforderungen an die bibliothekarische Beteiligung daran auf und liefert Ideen für die Entwicklung von neuen Services. Diese Aktivitäten fördern die Sichtbarkeit von Bibliotheken im Netz und ermöglichen es den AuskunftsbibliothekarInnen, die Rolle von „Community Technology Stewards“ einzunehmen. Reference services can adopt and benefit from numerous new tools and services emerging from Web 2.0. In addition to the internal usage of weblogs and wikis, librarians can contribute valuably to the new peer-to-peer reference platforms. The article lists requirements for the participation of librarians in web 2.0-based reference services and supplies ideas for the creation of new services. These activities promote the visibility of libraries on the Web and allow reference librarians to become „Community Technology Stewards“. Le service de référence peut mettre avantageusement à profit un grand nombre d'outils et de services offerts par le Web 2.0. Les bibliothécaires peuvent non seulement faire une utilisation interne des weblogs et des wikis mais également faire partager leurs connaissances sur de nouvelles plates-formes peer-to-peer. Cet article montre à quelles exigences doivent satisfaire les bibliothécaires pour y participer et émet des suggestions pour développer de nouveaux services. Ces activités favorisent la visibilité des bibliothèques sur le réseau et permettent aux conseillers à la documentation d'assumer le rôle de „Community Technology Stewards“.

Autoren wissenschaftlicher Artikel stehen unterschiedliche Wege bei der Recherche nach Hintergrundmaterial zu ihren Projekten zur Verfügung. Dass Social-Bookmarking-Dienste, die als Teil des Web 2.0 (O'Reilly, 2005) und der Bibliothek 2.0 (Danowski, 2006) genannt werden, eine sinnvolle Ergänzung zu den herkömmlichen Nachweisdatenbanken sein können, soll der vorliegende Artikel zeigen. Authors of scientific articles have numerous options to search for background material for their research projects. With our article, we want to show that the use of Social-Bookmarking-Services as part of the web 2.0 (O'Reilly, 2005)/library 2.0 (Danowski, 2006) technology is a useful supplement to conventional reference databases. Les auteurs d'articles scientifiques disposent de différentes méthodes pour se procurer la documentation de fond appropriée à leurs projets. Les catalogues de bibliothèques et les libraires en ligne offrent les voies de recherche classiques, par livre. A partir de banques de données spécialisées, il est possible de trouver les articles de périodiques s'inscrivant dans un contexte disciplinaire précis et tous les ordinateurs équipés d'un accès à la Toile permettent d'effectuer des recherches sur Internet. Le présent article se propose de montrer que les services de gestion et de partage de favoris, considérés comme partie intégrante du Web 2.0 (O'Reilly, 2005) et de la Bibliothèque 2.0 (Danowski, 2006), peuvent fournir un complément utile aux bases de données conventionnelles.

Dieser Artikel beschreibt die vom Autor entwickelte und an der Universitäts- und Stadtbibliothek Köln (USB) seit 1997 in verschiedenen Projekten eingesetzte Open-Source-Portalsoftware OpenBib. Nach einem grundlegenden Einblick in die Ursprünge, Technik und konkreten Einsatzgebiete an der USB werden weitergehende Funktionen des Portals erläutert, wie RSS-Feeds, Mashups, Tagging, Tag-Clouds, Nutzungsanalysen, Drilldowns sowie Kataloganreicherung. Viele davon sind charakteristisch für einen OPAC 2.0. This article describes the Open Source portal software OpenBib, a project that was started by the author in 1997 and is being used in different projects at the University Library of Cologne (USB). After a basic overview of the origins, technology and the application at the USB the article describes some additional features such as RSS feeds, mashups, tagging, tag clouds, use analyses, drilldowns as well as catalogue enrichment. Many of these are characteristic for OPAC 2.0. Cet article décrit le logiciel de portail Open Source OpenBib, développé par l‘auteur et utilisé à la Bibliothèque de l‘Université de Cologne (USB) depuis 1997 en différents projets. Après un regard élémentaire vers les origines, la technique et les domaines d‘application concrets à l‘USB, des fonctions additionelles du portail sont décrites, comme des flux RSS, des mashups, l‘utilisation des étiquettes, des nuages de mots-clés, des analyses d‘utilisation, des drilldowns ainsi qu‘un enrichissement du cataloque. Beaucoup d‘en sont caractéristiques pour un OPAC 2.0.

Nach einem Überblick über wichtige Aussagen der modernen Netzwerk- und Komplexitätstheorien werden drei für Bibliotheken relevante Befunde behandelt. Komplexität und Vernetzung kosten. Was bedeutet dies für die Verbreitung von Web 2.0-Anwendungen? Können durch „community“-Plattformen neue Dienstleistungen für Bibliotheken und Nutzer entstehen? Wie beeinflussen der „information overload“ und die ständige gesellschaftliche Akzeleration die Implementierung und Akzeptanz des Web 2.0? Auf dem Weg zur Bibliothek 2.0 gilt es, die zentralen Institutionen einzubinden und die Anschlussfähigkeit der Nutzer nicht zu überfordern. Modern theories about networks and complexity offer important insights for libraries. Complexity and networking cost ressources. What does this mean for the acceptance of WEB 2.0 by libraries? Will new services emerge from a web-based new community of libraries or/and users? What about „information overload“ and social acceleration? Are they further obstacles on the way to a Library 2.0? Librarian organisations and institutions have to play a key role in this development. But also the libraries need to bear the users and their potential in mind. Après un passage en revue des énoncés majeurs formulés par les théories modernes des réseaux et de la complexité, l'article analyse trois points significatifs pour les bibliothèques. La complexité et la mise en réseau coûtent cher. Quelle incidence a ce fait sur la propagation des applications Web 2.0? Les plates-formes ouvertes à la communauté scientifique peuvent-elles engendrer de nouvelles prestations pour les bibliothèques et leurs usagers? Comment la surinformation et l'accélération permanente de notre société influencent-elles l'implémentation et l'acceptance du Web 2.0? En s'engageant sur la voie de la bibliothèque 2.0, il importe d'intégrer les institutions centrales dans ce processus et de ne pas faire preuve d'une exigence excessive envers les usagers et leur capacité d'adhésion.

Weblogs und verbundene Techniken des Web 2.0 haben in kurzer Zeit eine weit verbreitete Nutzung in Bibliotheken erfahren. In diesem Artikel werden anhand von Beispielen insbesondere aus dem medizinischen Bibliothekswesen die Herausforderungen und Chancen für bloggende Bibliotheken dargestellt. Blogs können überaus vielfältige Aufgaben übernehmen, unter anderem dienen sie der persönlichen Informationsgewinnung und -filterung, der Verbesserung des Informationsflusses innerhalb und zwischen Bibliotheken sowie der Kommunikation mit dem Nutzer. Within a short time, weblogs and related Web 2.0 techniques have been used widespread in libraries. Based on examples mainly from medical libraries, the challenges and chances for blogging libraries are discussed. Blogs can perform extremely various tasks, e.g. serving the personal information gathering and filtering, the improvement of the information flow within and between libraries, as well as the communication with the user. Les weblogs et autres techniques du Web 2.0 ont connu en peu de temps un remarquable essor dans les bibliothèques. A partir d'exemples provenant essentiellement de bibliothèques médicales, cet article expose les défis et les chances s'ouvrant aux bibliothèques blogueuses. Les blogs peuvent remplir des fonctions extrêmement variées. Ils contribuent en particulier à procurer et à filtrer les informations, à améliorer leurs flux, tant internes qu'entre institutions, ainsi qu'à optimer la communication avec les usagers.

Der Autor, Bibliothekar im Servicebereich der Universitätsbibliothek der TU Hamburg-Harburg, lässt die Entwicklung der bibliothekarischen Website netbib Revue passieren. Hauptaugenmerk wird auf das netbib Weblog gerichtet, das erste seiner Art in Deutschland. Aber auch die weiteren Angebote wie die netbib Wikis und der netbib Newsletter werden vorgestellt. Das netbib Weblog existiert jetzt seit über sechs Jahren und ist für viele an Bibliotheken Interessierte zu einem wichtigen Informationsmittel geworden. Zurzeit schreiben 15 AutorInnen in dem Weblog und berichten täglich über aktuelle Entwicklungen aus der bibliothekarischen Praxis im In- und Ausland.   The author, librarian of the University Library of TU Hamburg-Harburg, lines out the history, development and technical backgrounds of the library focussed website netbib. The netbib weblog, as the essential part of netbib, has been the first of its kind in Germany. netbib is also offering further services like the netbib wikis and the netbib newsletter. The netbib weblog has been established six years ago, and for many librarians and libraries enthusiasts is has become an important source of information. At the moment 15 authors are contributing to the weblog. They cover current developments in library science as well as best practice examples.   L'auteur, conseiller à la documentation à la bibliothèque universitaire de l'Université Technique de Hambourg-Harbourg, relate le développement de netbib, site web pour bibliothèques. L'accent est mis sur le weblog netbib, pionnier dans son genre en Allemagne. L'article présente également les autres services tels que les wikis et la newsletter spécifiques à netbib. Existant depuis plus de six ans, le weblog netbib est devenu aujourd'hui un important outil d'information pour la plupart de ceux qui s'intéressent aux bibliothèques. L'équipe du weblog compte actuellement 15 auteurs qui informent quotidiennement des nouveautés survenant dans les bibliothèques en Allemagne et à l'étranger.

Das Medium Podcasting – selbstproduzierte, mittels RSS-Feeds abonnierbare Multimedia-Dateien im Internet – wird eingeführt. Es wird ein breiter Überblick über wichtige deutschsprachige Internetressourcen und Organisationen im Bereich des Podcasting geboten. Konzeption, Verbreitung und Ressourcen bibliothekarischer Podcasts in den USA sowie in Deutschland werden dargestellt und diskutiert. Abschließend beschreibt der Autor kurz einige von ihm persönlich empfohlene Podcasts. The medium of podcasting – self-produced, multimedia files on the internet which can be subscribed with RSS-feeds – is being introduced. An overview on important German internet resources and organisations in the field of podcasting is given. Concepts, spreading and resources of library-related podcasts in the USA and in Germany are presented and discussed. The author concludes with a description of some personally selected recommended podcasts. L'article présente le médium dénommé podcasting, consistant en fichiers multimédia autoproduits et accessibles par abonnement aux flux RSS sur Internet. L'auteur passe en revue les ressources électroniques et les organisations germanophones majeures dans le domaine du podcasting. Il présente et discute ensuite la conception, la diffusion et les ressources des podcasts spécifiques aux bibliothèques tant aux Etats-Unis qu'en Allemagne. Il termine enfin son article par une brève description de ses podcasts favoris.

Im August 2006 stellte der amerikanische Blogger Matthew White, der Wikipedia als den „McDonald's der Informationen” bezeichnete, sein Wikipedia-kritisches Blog mit der Bemerkung ein, da inzwischen jeder die schlechte Qualität der Wikipedia kenne, sei seine Arbeit erledigt. In dem vorliegenden Artikel berichten drei Wikipedia-Autoren von dem Kampf der deutschsprachigen Wikipedia-Community um die Steigerung der Artikelqualität. Sie zeigen, wie die Community auf den wachsenden Druck der Medien reagiert, und wie sie immer wieder neue Strategien und Konzepte des Qualitätsmanagements entwickelte. Die Untersuchung legt nahe, dass – während sie an einigen Stellen noch an Fastfood erinnert – sich die deutschsprachige Wikipedia in manchen Bereichen schon auf dem Weg zur Haute Cuisine befindet. In August 2006 Matthew White, an American blogger who called Wikipedia „the McDonald's of information“, closed down his Wikipedia-critical blog, stating that as everyone knew about the bad quality of Wikipedia, his job was done. In this paper three Wikipedia authors recount the struggle of the German Wikipedia community to improve the quality of the articles in the German language. They discuss how the community reacted to the growing media pressure and how it repeatedly developed new strategies and concepts for quality management. The investigation suggests that while some parts of the German Wikipedia are still comparable to fast food, others are already on their way to haute cuisine. En août 2005 le blogger américain Matthew White qui avait apostrophié Wikipédia comme le „McDonald's des informations” ferma son blog critique envers Wikipédia avec cette remarque que comme entre temps tout le monde connaissait la mauvaise qualité de Wikipédia, son travail se trouvait achevé. Dans le present article trois auteurs de Wikipédia de langue allemande relatent la lutte de la communauté de Wikipédia de langue allemande pour l'amélioration de la qualité des articles. Ils présentent les réactions de la communauté aux pressions des médias et les nouvelles stratégies et concepts du management. L'enquête fait sentir que même si en quelques endroits on se rapelle le fast-food, Wikipédia de langue allemande est en marche vers la haute cuisine.

Die Europäische Kommission hat eine Expertenkommission eingesetzt, die sich mit den Initiativen zur Entwicklung und Förderung von Medienkompetenz in den EU-Ländern befassen soll <http://ec.europa.eu/comm/avpolicy/media_literacy/index_en.htm>. Dazu wurde dem Deutschen Bibliotheksverband e.V. (DBV) ein Fragebogen zugeschickt, der 15 Fragen zum Verständnis von Medienkompetenz und zu den Initiativen auf diesem Sektor in Deutschland enthielt. Die nachfolgende Skizze beruht auf den Antworten zu diesem Fragebogen, die der Verfasser im Auftrag des DBV formulierte. Dabei geht es zunächst um das Verständnis von Medienkompetenz, sodann um Ziele und Zielgruppen, die Verankerung der Medienkompetenz im Bildungssys tem, sowohl innerhalb der formalen Bildungslaufbahnen als auch darüber hi naus in der nach- und der außerschulischen Bildung. Auf die vielfältigen Beiträge der öffentlichen und der wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in Deutschland zur Entwicklung und Förderung von Medienkompetenz wird dezidiert Bezug genommen.   The EU-Commission installed a group of experts in the field of media literacy to find out, which initiatives for developing and affording media literacy do exist in the member states of the EU <http://ec.europa.eu/comm/avpolicy/media_literacy/index_en.htm>. The German Library Association (DBV) received an EU-questionnaire with 15 items concerning the definition of media literacy, the targets and target groups, the integration of media literacy into the educational system in Germany, within school education as well as in non-schooling education and further education. The different activities of German public and academic libraries concerning the development and promotion of media literacy are mentioned in detail.   La Commission de l'EU a installée un groupe d'experts concernant une expertise pour le développement et l'encouragement de „media literacy“ dans les pays de la EU <http://ec.europa.eu/comm/avpolicy/media_literacy/index_en.htm>. L'association des bibliothèques allemandes (DBV) a reçu un questionnaire contenant 15 questions sur la compréhension de „media literacy“ et sur les initiatives dans ce domaine en Allemagne. Le texte suivant base sur les réponses au questionnaire de l'EU. Alors, il s'agit de la définition de „media literacy“, sur les buts et les cibles, l'intégration de media literacy dans le système de l'éducation – scolaire et non-scolaire. Les nombreuses contributions des bibliothèques publiques et scientifiques en Allemagne sont thématisées en détail.
