Abstract
Twin-roll casting (TRC) is well established as an economical method for producing aluminum foil and sheet for various applications. Recently, there has been an increasing interest in using TRC as a method to produce low-cost/high-quality aluminum sheet for automotive structural applications. The potential of TRC process in the manufacture of AA5XXX sheet for automotive structural applications has recently been demonstrated. The present work was undertaken to implement TRC technology and to develop processing cycles for the manufacture of twin-roll cast AA6016 sheet for inner and outer panel applications.
