Quereinsteiger und Neulinge der Vermittlung von Informationskompetenz werden grundlegend auf der Basis der vielfältigen praktischen Erfahrungen des Multiplikatorennetzwerks der AG Informationskompetenz NRW über strategische Konzepte, unterschiedliche Schulungsangebote für verschiedene Zielgruppen, Methodik und Didaktik von Schulungsveranstaltungen, Organisation und Infrastruktur sowie Evaluation und Qualitätsmanagement informiert. Newcomers to the field of teaching information literacy are thoroughly informed about strategic concepts, specific courses for varying target groups, theory and methodology of teaching, organisation and infrastructure as well as evaluation and quality management. The recommendations are based on the wide range of practical experience gathered within the dissemination network of the Project Group Information Literacy NRW. Des débutants en formation à la maîtrise de l'information seront informés sur des conceptions stratégiques, des offres de formation pour des cibles particulières, des modèles méthodologiques et didactiques pour des formations, l'organisation et l'infrastructure ainsi que l'évaluation et le système de management de qualité. Ces recommandations basent sur les expériences pratiques du réseau des multiplicateurs de l'atelier de maîtrise de l'information NRW.

e-Science bzw. e-Research führt wissenschaftliche Methoden zusammen, die bislang getrennt verfolgt wurden: Experiment, Theorie und Simulation werden in einer „datenzentrierten Wissenschaft“ vereinigt. Während dies für die Naturwissenschaften bereits zutrifft, sind die Geisteswissenschaften in dieser „4. Generation der Wissenschaften“ noch nicht vollständig angekommen. Doch gerade diese Fachdisziplinen eignen sich hervorragend, um in Form von Virtuellen Forschungsumgebungen durch den Zugang zu relevanten Ressourcen wie Inhalten, Forschungsdaten und Diensten, Tools kooperativ und kollaborativ auch über Disziplingrenzen hinweg zu forschen. Der Artikel gibt einen Überblick und benennt konkrete Maßnahmen, wie die Geisteswissenschaften in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Informationsspezialisten die Vorteile innovativer digitaler Technologien für den Aufbau und die Weiterentwicklung von Virtuellen Forschungsumgebungen nutzen können.   The concepts of e-Science and e-Research merge research methods that were applied discretely so far. This data-centric research reunites experiment, theory, and simulation. Whereas the sciences already have established these new concepts, the arts and humanities are still on the way to the “4 th generation of science”, despite the fact that there is great potential for the arts and humanities to advance research via collaborative and interdisciplinary Virtual Research Environments with direct access to relevant resources such as digitized content, primary data, services, and tools. This article discusses how innovative digital technologies may be taken advantage of in the arts and humanities and proposes steps for the collaborative establishment and advancement of Virtual Research Environments in a community with humanities scholars and information scientists.   e-Science respectivement e-Research réunit des méthodes scientifiques jusqu'alors séparés: l'expérience, la théorie et la simulation se trouvent fusionnés dans une science centrée sur des dates. Tandis que c'est déjà le cas dans les sciences exactes, les lettres ne sont pas encore arrivé à cette « quatrième génération des sciences ». Mais ce sont exactement ces disciplines spécifiques qui se prêtent particulièrement bien pour avancer la recherche par des environnements virtuels afin d'accéder aux ressources importantes telles les contenus, les dates et services de recherche, les outils, et ceci de façon coopérative et collaborative par-dessus les frontières disciplinaires. L'article présente un survol et désigne des mesures concrètes par lesquelles les lettres en collaboration étroite avec des spécialistes de l'information, peuvent bénéficier des avantages des technologies numériques innovatrices pour l'établissement et le développement d'environnements virtuels de recherche.

“Europeana.eu” is Europe's digital library, archive and museum portal. The European Commission funded its development as part of a digital libraries initiative to integrate access to Europe's distributed digitised cultural heritage resources. The prototype of “Europeana.eu” was launched by the President of the European Commission in November 2008 to such large-scale public interest that the portal came to a standstill. Now back online with full functionality, it gives access to 4.5 million items from over 1 000 of Europe's major libraries, museums, galleries, archives and audio-visual collections. The case study describes both the political and practical development of Europeana. It covers the user research and testing behind Europeana, and its metadata elements and surrogate model. It concludes with a description of the projects which will be contributing content and technology solutions to Europeana over the next two years, to bring it to fully operational service. The next version will be launched in summer 2010 with access to over 10 million digital items.   „Europeana eu“ ist Europas digitales Bibliotheks-, Archiv- und Museumsportal. Die Europäische Kommission finanzierte seine Entwicklung als Teil einer digitalen Bibliotheksinitiative, um den Zugang zu Europas verteilten digitalen Kulturerbe-Quellen zusammenzuführen. Der Prototyp von „Europeana eu“ wurde im November 2008 vom Präsidenten der Europäischen Kommission eröffnet und erhielt solch riesiges öffentliches Interesse, dass das Portal zum Stillstand kam. Jetzt ist es wieder online mit allen Funktionalitäten; es gibt Zugang zu 4.5 Millionen Objekten aus über 1 000 der größten Bibliotheken, Museen, Galerien, Archive und audiovisuellen Sammlungen Europas. Der Beitrag beschreibt sowohl die politische als auch die praktische Entwicklung von Europeana. Er behandelt die Anwenderuntersuchung und Tests hinter Europeana, die Metadatenelemente und das Ersatzmodell. Er schließt mit einer Beschreibung der Projekte, die während der nächsten zwei Jahre Inhalts- und Technologielösungen für Europeana beisteuern werden, um es zu einem vollständig einsatzfähigen Dienst zu machen. Die nächste Version wird im Sommer 2010 eröffnet und Zugang zu über 10 Millionen digitalen Objekten bieten.   «Europeana.eu» est le portail numérique de bibliothèques, archives et de musées de l'Europe. La Commission européenne finançait son développement comme une part d'une initiative de bibliothèques numériques pour fusionner l'accès aux sources numériques dispersées de l'héritage culturel d'Europe. Le prototype d' »Europeana.eu» fut inauguré par le président de la Commission européenne en novembre 2008 et connut un tel intérêt public énorme que le portail vint à l'arrêt. Maintenant il est de nouveau en ligne avec toutes les fonctionnalités; il donne accès à 4.5 millions d'objets de plus de 1 000 des plus grandes bibliothèques, musées, galeries, archives et collections audio-visuelles d'Europe.

Der folgende Artikel vermittelt einen aktuellen Überblick über das italienische Bibliothekswesen in seiner komplexen Gesamtheit, wobei die Unterschiede innerhalb des Nord-Süd-Gefälles eine große Rolle spielen. Italien ist überdurchschnittlich reich an Bibliotheken, jeglichen Typs und Inhalts. In einzelnen Unterpunkten werden Zusammenhänge, Bibliothekstypen, Strukturen und Beispiele, Kooperationen und Projekte sowie detaillierte aktuelle Themen und Berufsbilder vorgestellt, die entscheidend das Bild der italienischen Bibliotheken prägen. This article gives a current overview about the Italian librarianship in its complex entirety, taking into account the differences of the north-south-divide. Italy has a large number of libraries of different types and contents. The single subitems of the article will present the contexts, the various types of libraries, the structures and examples, the cooperation and projects as well as the current issues and occupational profiles, which contribute to determinate the image of Italian librarianship. L'article présente un survol actuel sur le paysage bibliothécaire italien dans sa totalité complexe et où les différences à l'intérieur du décalage nord-sud jouent un rôle important. L'Italie est extraordinairement riche en bibliothèques, de tout type et contenu. Dans les différents sous-chapitres on présnte des rapports, des types de bibliothèques, des structures et exemples, des coopérations, des projets comme aussi des sujets actuels et des profils professionnels qui marquent l'image des bibliothèques italiennes de façon décisive.

Both internal and political disputes as well as blockades and Israeli attacks aggravate the daily life in Gaza and the supply from outside. The “Qattan Centre for the Child“ is a nonprofit cultural and educational institution and operates, amongst other activities on promoting reading skills. Besides the library with more than 100 000 volumes the QCC offers facilities for electronic reading, programming and general knowledge as well as cultural and artistic activities. Das „Qattan Centre for the Child“ ist eine Kinder- und Jugendbibliothek, eine gemeinnützige Einrichtung der Qattan Stiftung in Gaza. Neben der Bibliothek mit über 100 000 ME bietet das QCC vielfältige Aktivitäten zur Leseförderung, Kurse zur Wissenserweiterung und künstlerischen Förderung sowie ein umfangreiches Veranstaltungsprogramm. So kann Jugendlichen das Recht auf Lernen, Wissen und gesellschaftliches Miteinander auch im traumatisierenden Krisengebiet erhalten bleiben. Le „Qattan Centre for the Child“, une bibliothèque pour enfants et adolesςants, est un établissement d'utilité publique de la Fondation Qattan à Gaza. À côté de la bibliothèque avec plus de 100 000 médias le QCC offre des activités nombreuses à l'encouragement de la lecture, des cours à l'amplification des connaissances et l'encouragement artistique ainsi que des manifestations à grande échelle. Ainsi le droit à l'étude, au savoir et à la vie sociale peuvent être maintenus pour les adolesçants même dans une situation traumatique.

Die Bayerische Staatsbibliothek ist seit 450 Jahren ein angesehener Partner für Forschende, Lehrende und Studierende. Mit ihrem einzigartigen Bestand an Handschriften, Inkunabeln und historischen Drucken stellt sie ein Schatzhaus des abendländischen schriftlichen Kulturerbes dar. Als zentrale Archiv- und Landesbibliothek des Freistaates Bayern erbringt sie vielfältige Dienste für den Wissenschaftsstandort Bayern und übernimmt gleichzeitig wesentliche Aufgaben der deutschlandweiten Informationsversorgung. Als Innovationszentrum für digitale Informationsdienste und -technologien trägt sie maßgeblich zur Gestaltung der Bibliothek der Zukunft bei. Der Beitrag beschreibt das breite Leistungsspektrum der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek, die 2008 mit dem nationalen Bibliothekspreis „Bibliothek des Jahres” ausgezeichnet wurde. The Bavarian State Library has been a respected partner of researchers, teachers and students alike for 450 years now. With its internationally unique holdings of manuscripts, incunabula and historical prints, it is a treasure trove of the written cultural heritage of the occident. As the central repository library and state library of the Free State of Bavaria, the Bavarian State Library furthermore provides a great variety of services for Bavaria as a location of science and research, while simultaneously performing essential tasks for Germany-wide information supply. As an innovation centre for digital information services and technologies the Bavarian State Library makes an important contribution to shaping the library of the future. In 2008 the Bavarian State Library won the national library award “Library of the year” for their excellent services for researchers and students. Depuis 450 ans, la Bayerische Staatsbibliothek est un partenaire majeur des chercheurs, enseignants et étudiants. Ses collections exceptionnelles de manuscrits, incunables et imprimés historiques en font un véritable musée-trésor du patrimoine écrit de la culture occidentale. Bibliothèque centrale du Land de Bavière, elle propose de multiples services dans le cadre de la recherche en Bavière et assume parallèlement des missions essentielles sur le plan national. Centre de l'innovation numérique, elle joue un rôle important dans la formation des bibliothèques du futur. Grâce à ses performances, la Bayerische Staatsbibliothek a été élue Bibliothèque de l'année 2008.

Im Markt der Hörbücher weisen die Jugendhörbücher ein großes Potenzial hinsichtlich einer Steigerung der Absatzzahlen und der Erschließung neuer Kundengruppen auf. Deshalb wird nachfolgend ein kurzer Überblick über verschiedene Verlage und Downloadportale gegeben, die Jugendhörbücher führen. Außerdem werden die Ergebnisse einer Befragung öffentlicher Bibliotheken zum Thema Jugendhörbücher präsentiert. On the audio book-market teenager audio books show great potential regarding a rise in sales figures and the capturing of new customer groups. Therefore in the following a short overview is given of different publishing houses and download portals which offer teenager audio books. Furthermore the results of interviews with public libraries on the subject teenager audio books is presented. Le marché de livres audio pour les jeunes présente un grand potentiel concernant une augmentation des ventes et la conquête de nouveaux groupes de clients. C'est pourquoi ci-dessous on donne une courte vue d'ensemble de différentes maisons d'édition et de portails de téléchargement qui offrent des livres audio pour les jeunes. En plus sont présenté les résultats des interviews avec des bibliothèques publiques sur le sujet de livres audio pour les jeunes.

This paper will address DRIVER's response to the global information environment, in concepts of scientific and technical collaboration that currently both challenge repository managers, and promise a future for open access to publically funded research in this growing international repository network. These issues are addressed in terms of recent technical developments, but will focus on strategic partnerships, on issues of policy development, on improved services, and on additional functionality offered to the scholarly community that point to the achievement of the ultimate goal of a global and interactive representation of human knowledge.   Dieser Bericht befasst sich mit dem Beitrag zur weltweiten Informationslandschaft, den das Projekt DRIVER liefert. Die Zusammenarbeit von Wissenschaft und Technik stellt derzeit einerseits eine Herausforderung für Repository-Manager dar, bietet auf der anderen Seite aber auch eine vielversprechende Zukunft für Open Access-Publikationen für die öffentlich geförderte Forschung in diesem wachsenden internationalen Repositorien-Netzwerk. Hinsichtlich neuester technischer Entwicklungen stehen strategische Partnerschaften, die Entwicklung angemessener Vorgehensweisen, verbesserte Dienstleistungen und zusätzliche Funktionalitäten für die Forschungsgemeinschaft im Mittelpunkt. Diese Angebote weisen auf das endgültige Ziel einer weltweiten und interaktiven Darstellung von Wissen.   L'article s'occupe de la contribution que le projet DRIVER apporte à l'espace mondial d'information. Le travail conjoint de la science et de la technique représente actuellement un défi pour les managers des dépôts d'un côté, mais de l'autre offre un avenir aux publications open access pour la recherche subventionnée par l'état dans ce réseau de dépôts internationaux. Des partenariats stratégiques, le développement des proécdés appropriés, des services améliorés et des fonctionnalités supplémentaires pour la communauté des chercheurs se trouvent au centre des développements techniques. Ces offres indiquent le but final d'une représentation du savoir mondial et interactive.

Der Artikel zeigt auf, wie sich das Selbstbild der öffentlichen Bibliotheken Deutschlands in Fragen der Finanzierung durch Bibliotheksgebühren unter äußeren wie inneren Einflüssen verändert hat. Zu diesem Zweck werden bibliothekarische Äußerungen aus Fachzeitschriften sowie bibliothekarische Publikationen aus den Jahren 1978 bis 2008 ausgewertet. Vorangestellt ist ein Rückblick auf die Ausgangssituation um 1900. Ein Verlust der sozialen Zielsetzungen wird ermittelt. This article shows the changes in the self-image of public libraries in Germany concerning financing by readers fees taking into consideration exterior and interior influences. To this end statements in specialist periodicals and publications concerning libraries from 1978 to 2008 are analyzed. A retrospect of the situation around 1900 serves as an introduction. The loss of social objectives is ascertained. L'article montre comment l'image de soi des bibliothèques publiques en Allemagne s'est modifiée par le financement par frais d'accès et sous des influences extérieures et intérieures. À cette fin des propos bibliothécaires dans les revues spécialisées ainsi que dans des publications bibliothécaires des années 1978 à 2008 sont exploitées. Un coup d'œil rétrospectif sur la situation de départ vers 1900 est mis en tête. Une perte des objectifs sociaux est à constater.
