This chapter will provide an overview of the various stages of garment manufacturing, including pattern making, cutting, sewing, and finishing. It will explore the role of technology in the manufacturing process, including computer-aided design (CAD), spreading and automated cutting machines. The chapter will also examine the structure of global apparel industry, including the stakeholders involved in this business. The chapter will illustrate the classification of garments. Ultimately, this chapter will argue that garment manufacturing is a critical component of the clothing industry and requires a holistic approach that balances creativity, efficiency, and ethics to create high-quality garments that meet the needs of both consumers and the planet.
