Abstract

This chapter is intended to provide a basic understanding of the yarn manufacturing process to the readers. Yarns are the basic building blocks of fabric. Therefore, an overview of yarn types and different yarn manufacturing techniques are necessary to explain the structure-property relationship of fabric. A brief introduction about process flowcharts for 100% cotton and cotton-blended yarns, preparatory, and spinning operations of yarns is part of this chapter.
