Abstract

Research on the communicative constitution of organizations (CCO) is becoming institutionalized as an area of inquiry with its own identity. In the past decade, several overview texts have been published on this area of research. Hence, it is worthwhile to take stock of the current state of CCO scholarship and present a new outlook for the future. To accomplish these aims, the present chapter provides a meta-review of the main overview texts that have been published so far. Subsequently, we discuss emerging trends and topics in CCO research, which in turn serves as the basis for a discussion on the future of CCO research.
