Verbale Aggression
This chapter is in the book Verbale Aggression

Abstract

The contribution criticizes the circularity of the widespread psychological concept of aggression and proposes to replace it by a concept of violence. Hence, a meaningful way to talk of communicative violence becomes possible, the counterpart of which is communicative empathy. Illustrated by transcribed therapy sessions some situations with violence potential are described, they can originate from both, therapist and patient. For the first time mild and rough forms of empathy-dazzling are described by which especially patients complicate or disenable the therapeutic empathy task. Communicative violence proves as “interruptor” of empathy in the special sense, that the dimension of “my mind is with you” which, according to Harvey Sacks, silently accompagnies every conversation, is suspended.
