Über diese Zeitschrift
STUF wurde 1948 gegründet und erschien bis 1993 unter dem Titel Zeitschrift für Phonetik, Sprachwissenschaft und Kommunikationsforschung – ZPSK.
STUF versteht sich als Forum für fachwissenschaftliche Beiträge aus den Gebieten der Sprachtypologie und Universalienforschung.
STUF veröffentlicht entsprechende Originalstudien, die sich sprachvergleichend mit der strukturellen Vielfalt und/oder mit den Konstanten menschlicher Sprache(n) in empirischer und/oder theoretischer Weise auseinandersetzen. Beiträge zur Fachgeschichte sind gleichfalls willkommen. Arbeiten zur Arealtypologie und diachronen Typologie werden bevorzugt berücksichtigt.
