Vikings in the Hebridean economy: methodology and Gaelic language evidence of Scandinavian influence

Zusammenfassung
Basierend auf der PhD-Forschung des Autors bespricht dieser Aufsatz die methodologischen Faktoren, die eine Sozial- und Wirtschaftsanalyse der Semantik historischen Sprachgebrauchs beeinflussen. Diese methodologische Arbeit wurde entwickelt, um ein klareres Verständnis der altnordischen Lehnwörter im Alt- und Mittelirischen und Schottisch-Gälischen zu ermöglichen. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird einer Teilmenge von Lehnwörtern im Schottisch-Gälischen gewidmet, wodurch ein vollständigeres Verständnis des Einflusses der Wikinger und Hiberno-Skandinavier in Schottland und den Hebriden während und nach der Wikingerzeit gewonnen werden soll.
