Gila A. Schauer: Intercultural Competence and Pragmatics

    Su Lai holds a PhD in TESOL (L2 pragmatics) from the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. His research centres on L2 pragmatics, especially individual learner differences, translingual framework, and AI in teaching L2 pragmatics. He has published in the International Journal of Applied Linguistics and the TESOL Journal.

    Patricia Salazar-Campillo is associate professor in the Department of English Studies at Universitat Jaume I. She is a member of the research group LAELA (Lingüística Aplicada a l’Ensenyament de la Llengua Anglesa) and her main interests include foreign language acquisition, interlanguage pragmatics, and computer-mediated communication, especially email discourse. She co-edited the book Refusals in instructional contexts and beyond (Rodopi, 2013) and Investigating the learning of pragmatics across ages and contexts (Brill, 2019).
