Abstract
This paper analyses the sources concerning the goldsmith Zuzul(l)i and his ties with other craftsmen and scribes of Ḫattuša in the 13th century BC. It will be proposed that the seal BoHa 14, 181, with the name Zuzuli and the title BONUS2 SCRIBA, found in the debris of the Haus am Hang (House on the Slope), could be attributed to him because of his dual role of goldsmith and overseer. In addition, the function of the HaH as a center of the state economy will be reconsidered on the basis of the analysis of the ancient tablets as well as the testimonies of the earliest scholars who studied the Hittite tablets.
