Chapter 20 Nonviolent Communication is an Inner Development Booster
-
Lara Yasmin Hunziker
Abstract
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is an approach to communication that was designed to help resolve conflicts and to navigate difficult conversations. It was developed by Mashall Rosenberg in the late 1960s and has been most successfully applied in schools that were struck by severe conflicts after starting the dissolution of racial segregation. Today, NVC has been effectively applied in many other realms such as family, business, politics, and especially peace negotiations.
Obviously, learning NVC will enhance the IDG skill of communication. But as this text will highlight, it has a much broader impact, touching upon all five dimensions of the IDG framework, making it a powerful and easy-to-implement training resource with the potential to boost inner development at a large scale.
