Abstract
The chapter addresses the critical role of teams in entrepreneurship and innovation from a sociological perspective. It highlights current research on how team diversity, social support, digitalization, and team functioning matter for productive entrepreneurial and innovation teams. To examine these themes, it builds on core sociological concepts of social capital and network embeddedness. Future research possibilities that leverage advancements in artificial intelligence, data-processing capabilities, and the availability of registry data are offered.
