Abstract
The article investigates lexicographical entries on the oldest phraseologisms of German using the example of somatisms. The forms of the somatisms are followed on the basis of dictionaries of Middle High German, the Early Modern High German Dictionary and the German Dictionary by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm (1854-1961). The aim of the article is to determine how phraseologisms in the dictionaries are taken into account and to what extent older German historical dictionaries can provide information during the investigation of somatisms, in particular kinegrams and pseudokinegrams.
