Ezechiel und die Priesterschrift

Abstract
The paper begins with methodological questions concerning the comparability of literary works in the Hebrew Bible, concentrating on the comparison between the priestly literature of the Pentateuch and the Book of Ezekiel. As the first one didn’t come to us as a separate work (but only as part of the broader Pentateuch) and the second one comes in different textual forms (see section 2) the comparison between Ezekiel and the priestly literature of the Pentateuch must be a redaction-critical one. In section 3, the paper first analyses the close tradition-historical relations between the oldest priestly texts (the socalled „ursprüngliche Priesterschrift“) and the Pro-Gola-Redaction of the Book of Ezekiel, where Ezekiel seems to be the older tradition; and second it analyses the literary-historical relations between the „Priesterschrift“ (especially Exod 6:2-8) and the Diaspora-Redaction of the Book of Ezekiel (especially Ez 20). Here, in contrast, the „Priesterschrift“ seems to be the older text. Thus, the relation between Ezekiel and the priestly literature of the Pentateuch is a mutual one depending on which state of the formation of the respective texts is discussed.
