Abstract

In recent research a growing consensus can be observed that Pap 967 in his overall structure represents an older Hebrew version of the book of Ezekiel which was significantly shorter and had another textual sequence than MT (Ez 38-39; 37; 40-48). However, the various minor differences between Pap 967, the main Septuagint tradition and MT have not been classified in a satisfactory manner yet. By analysing Ezek 34 the paper shows that Pap 967 represents in many cases an earlier reading against the common editions of the Septuagint that affects the reconstruction of the redactional process behind MT.
