Abstract

The main issue of this contribution is the presentation of the existing Ezekiel-manuscripts in Qumran and Masada, of the quotations and allusions and of their reception in epexegetical texts. The question is, whether we can derive text-critical and redaction-critical arguments about the relation between MT, LXX, and Pap 967. The analysis of these texts justifies the following hypotheses: (1) The Ez-Mss in Qumran are mostly identical with the protoMT in text and sequence. (2) The Masada-text exactly testifies the protoMT in text and sequence, esp. in Ez 36-39. (3) The epexegetical text Pseudo-Ezekiel has its special idioms, but imitates the textual sequence of MT in spite of several textpluses. (4) Finally the Ez-Reception in Revelation of St. John follows mainly the masoretical textline.1 The conclusion is: there is no proof of the textual sequence of Pap 967 in BCEtimes and in the 1st century CE.
