Abstract

In this work was studied the effect that the variables pH, irradiation wavelength and the molar ratio H2O2 : substrate have upon the photocatalytic degradation of the antibiotics chlortetracycline, oxolinic acid and thiamphenicol using TiO2 immobilized on glass Raschig rings. The analysis was planned as a factorial design, in order to determine the best affordable experimental conditions to the photocatalytic depletion of these industrially used antibiotics. Results shown complete elimination of the two firsts compounds before one hour, with the sulphidecontaining substrate being more resistant for photocatalytic removal.
