SUNY Press was founded in 1966 to support the State University of New York's commitments to teaching, research, and public service. Today, SUNY Press publishes distinguished research by scholars from around the world in humanities and social sciences. The press is driven by its mission to expand knowledge in both established and emerging fields, provoke critical thinking and conversations, and illuminate the diversity and complexity of the human experience. SUNY Press publishes more than 150 books and four journals each year and maintains a deep backlist of over 6,000 titles.
