This review summarises the experimental and structural knowledge on polycyclic phosphanes, with a focus on bicyclic and tricyclic phosphanes, as they have not only been the most studied in the last 25 years, but also show the greatest diversity in terms of constitutional isomerism and structural motifs. Moreover, only polycyclic phosphanes that have p-block substituents at all free valences are discussed.

This review has focused on ligand isomers in Pt(II) complexes. There are a variety of inner coordination spheres about the platinum(II) atom (PtN 4 , PtN 2 Cl 2 , PtP 2 Cl 2, PtPNC 2 , PtPNCl 2, PtP 2 CBr, PtP 2 CS), build up by mono- and bidentate ligands. The bidentate ligands create a variety of metallocyclic rings. The L–Pt–L bite angle (mean values) open in the sequence: 73.1° (PNP) < 78.7° (NC 2 C) < 80.4° (NC 2 N) < 86.4° (PC 2 P) < 86.7° (PNNP) < 93.0° (CC 3 S). There are three types of isomers: ligand, mixed – (ligand + distortion), and mixed – (ligand + cis-trans), isomers, which are rarity.

Metallodrugs correspond to a small portion of all available drugs in the market and, yet, some of them are among the most used and important drugs in modern medicine. However, medicinal inorganic chemistry remains an underestimated area within medicinal chemistry and the main reason is the mislead association of metals to toxic agents. Thus, in this review, the potential of medicinal inorganic chemistry in drug designing is highlighted through a description of the current status of metallodrugs and metallodrug candidates in advanced clinical trials. The broad spectrum of application of metal-based drugs in medicine for both therapy and diagnosis is addressed by the extensive list of examples presented herein.

In recent years, rapid technological advances have required the development of energy-related devices. In this regard, Supercapacitors (SCs) have been reported to be one of the most potential candidates to meet the demands of human’s sustainable development owing to their unique properties such as outstanding cycling life, safe operation, low processing cost, and high power density compared to the batteries. This review describes the concise aspects of SCs including charge-storage mechanisms and scientific principles design of SCs as well as energy-related performance. In addition, the most important performance parameters of SCs, such as the operating potential window, electrolyte, and full cell voltage, are reviewed. Researches on electrode materials are crucial to SCs because they play a pivotal role in the performance of SCs. This review outlines recent research progress of carbon-based materials, transition metal oxides, sulfides, hydroxides, MXenes, and metal nitrides. Finally, we give a brief outline of SCs’ strategic direction for future growth.

Hafnium is a transition metal and it is the 45th most abundant transition element present on the earth. Hafnium has been successfully alloyed with several metals including titanium, iron, and niobium. Hafnium complexes are less active olefin polymerization catalysts. In the current review synthesis of hafnium complexes involving bonding through different linkages like “carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon and oxygen, nitrogen and cobalt nitrogen and oxygen, nitrogen and phosphorus, nitrogen and sulfur, phosphorus and carbon, phosphorus and oxygen, sulfur carbon and oxygen, carbon–nitrogen and oxygen, carbon–nitrogen and phosphorus, carbon–nitrogen oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus, carbon–oxygen phosphorus and nitrogen”. The commonly used solvents for the synthesis of Hafnium complexes are tetrahydrofuran, n-hexane, and toluene, etc. These complexes were mostly reported at different temperatures ranges from −35 to 110 °C with continuous stirring, according to the nature of ligands. An overview of techniques in the synthesis of Hafnium complexes through various routes has been compiled.
