Abstract

A new model is introduced to calculate the physicochemical properties of systems with limited solubility. It has been applied to compute the surface tension of MnO– CaO– SiO2 liquid phase at 1500 °C based on the boundary data. The good agreement between referenced data and theoretical calculations shows that this method is feasible and will play a useful role for metallurgical slag since most of metallurgical systems are with a limited homogeneous field.
