Analysis of the syntactic connections in Jer 19,11–12, as well as the topographical data, shows that the usual association of the symbolic action with the fate of the city of Jerusalem cannot be maintained without further investigation. The original place of the prophet's action is much more likely to be the Tophet.
L'analyse des relations syntactiques en Jer 19,11–12, ainsi que la mention des lieux, montre que l'interprétation usuelle – reliant l'acte symbolique au destin de la ville – ne peut être maintenue. C'est le tophæt qui apparaît plutôt comme le lieu originel de l'action du prophète.
Die Analyse der syntaktischen Zusammenhänge in Jer 19,11–12 sowie der Ortsangaben zeigt, dass die übliche Verbindung zwischen der Zeichenhandlung und dem Schicksal der Stadt nicht ohne weiteres aufrecht erhalten werden kann. Als ursprünglicher Ort der Handlung des Propheten kommt vielmehr das Tofet in den Blick.
