  • Jennifer A. Reimer

    Jennifer A. Reimer, assistant professor in the Department of American Culture and Literature at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, received her PhD in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011, and her MFA in Writing from the University of San Francisco in 2005. Her scholarly interests focus on hemispheric and transnational American studies, with emphasis on race, ethnicity, and gender. She is the 2011 winner of the American Studies Association’s Gloria E. Anzaldúa Award and currently serves on the ASA’s International Committee. Her scholarly work has appeared in Western American Literature, ARIEL (A Review of International English Literature), The Journal of Popular Music Studies and Latino Studies. Her first prose poetry book, The Rainy Season Diaries, was released in 2013. She is the co-founder and co-editor of Achiote Press.

    Michael Subialka is the Powys Roberts Research Fellow in European Literature at St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford. He received his PhD with honors in Romance Languages and Literatures and from the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago in 2012. He has also lived in Ankara, Turkey, where he taught in Bilkent University’s Program in Cultures, Civilizations, and Ideas. A specialist in transnational and comparative Italian studies, he is the editor of PSA, the journal of the Pirandello Society of America, and co-editor of a forthcoming volume on Pirandello’s Visual Philosophy: Imagination and Thought across Media. His work has also been published in Comparative Literature, Annali d’Italianistica, and Pirandello Studies. His current monograph project, Italian Modernism in a European Context: The Legacies of German Idealism, positions Italian literary and cultural production in terms of the transnational development of modernism and at the juncture of philosophy and artistic creation.
