The 40th edition of Colloquium Spectroscopicum Internationale (CSI XL) will be hold at the Congress Palace in Pisa, Italy, 11-16 June 2017. Organized by the Institute of Chemistry of Organometallic Compounds of National Research Council of Italy (CNR-ICCOM) with the support of the Italian Chemical Society, CSI XL represents a historic forum among scientists presenting and discussing recent developments in fundamentals and applications in all branches of Spectroscopy.

Alongside CSI XL, CNR-ICCOM will organize the 9th Euro-Mediterranean Symposium on Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (www.emslibs.org). Participants and exhibitors can attend both events with a single registration. The scientific programme consists of Plenary, Invited, and Keynote Lectures, Oral Presentations, and Poster Presentations.

Contributions are welcome in following topics of Analytical Spectroscopy: Atomic Spectrometry, Molecular Spectrometry, Organic/Inorganic Mass Spectrometry, X-ray spectrometry, Hyphenated Techniques, Vapor Generation & Sample introduction Techniques, Laser Spectroscopy, Computational Spectroscopy, Imaging Techniques, Nuclear techniques, Methods of surface analysis and depth profiling; as well as in the application of spectroscopy in: Materials sciences, Environmental and Geochemical Analysis, Archaeometry and Cultural Heritage, Biological applications, Food analysis, Clinical and pharmaceutical analysis, Speciation analysis/Metallomics, Mass spectrometry in Post-genomics and Proteomics, Miniaturisation and Nanotechnology, Fuels and biofuels.

The deadline for abstract submission is 31 January 2017. Exhibition areas will be available at the Congress Palace, ground level. Grants for PhD Students & Young Researchers will be available. The deadline for grants application is 31 January 2017.
