An important role in the recent development of science, technology, and society is associated with novel materials. This 8th International Symposium on Macro- and Supramolecular Architectures and Materials: Multifunctional Materials and Structures (MAM-17), which will take place in Sochi, Russia, 6-10 June 2017, provides an international forum for presentation and discussion on recent progress and future trends in the rapidly expanding interdisciplinary field of macromolecular and supramolecular architectures and materials ,as well as multifunctional realms of their application.

This symposium continues a series of biennial conferences that have been organized around the world. Previous MAM conferences have been held in Japan, USA, Germany, Jamaica, South Africa and other countries. The Chemistry Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, with the support of IUPAC, will organize the 8th Symposium in 2017. IUPAC members, affiliates, and fellows will have a 10% registration fee reduction.

MAM-17 will bring together more than 250 scientists and subject specialists from all over the world to share and discuss theoretical and practical knowledge about novel materials and to chart out future scientific and technological research directions.

The symposium will address the following topics:

  1. Catalysis and applications

  2. Membrane technologies

  3. Energy conversion and storage

  4. Materials for next generation manufacturing processes

  5. Biomedicine and bio-engineering

  6. Macromolecular design

  7. Engineered materials with high performance

  8. Nanomaterials and multifunctions

  9. Chemo- & biosensors

  10. Environmental applications

  11. General topics

Deadline for abstracts is 15 December 2016.

The host city, Sochi, promises an historical background with modern implications, the scenery of the Black Sea, and delicious Russian cuisine. Post-congress tours will be organized.
