Phosphorus Chemistry

The International Conference on Phosphorus Chemistry (ICPC) is organized every two years and attracts up to 500 international delegates from academia and industry. It was first held in Heidelberg and hosted by Prof. Georg Wittig in 1964. Since then, the conference has found many welcoming locations around the world: the 21st ICPC (ICPC 2016) will be held in Russia for the first time, taking place in Kazan from 5 to 10 June 2016.
Historians call Kazan “a cradle of Russian organic chemistry,” because many outstanding Russian scientists have worked here: K.K. Klaus, N.N. Zinin, A.M. Butlerov, V.V. Markovnikov, A.M. Zaitcev, E.E. Vagner, S.N. Reformatsky, A.E. Arbuzov and B.A. Arbuzov.
All fields of Phosphorus Chemistry will be considered at ICPC 2016, from fundamental to applied areas, including multidisciplinary approaches and related areas of other sciences. Topics of the conference include:
Progress in Organophophorus Chemistry
New Phosphorus Reagents in Organic Synthesis
Phosphorus in Coordination and Inorganic Chemistry
Frontiers of Catalytic Processes
Phosphorus in Life Sciences
Towards New Age Materials Based on Phosphorus Compounds
Phosphorus in Industry, Green Chemistry and Sustainable Development
An exciting program of oral and poster presentations will be featured, including a lecture from the 2015 Laureate of the International Arbuzovs Prize, Professor Yu-Fen Zhao (Xiamen University, China). The conference is supported by IUPAC, the Russian Scientific Foundation and the local Tatarstan Government.
