Abstract

The dating formula of P.Stan. Class. Inv. 2 provides important information about the development of the Greek dynastic cult in the years 199-193 BC. (1) The Theoi Soteres were officially omitted from the dating formulae of the Greek papyri. (2) Eucharistos remained the official cult epithet in Alexandria till the year 193. (3) The apotheosis of Ptolemy V should probably be dated between 3 August and 11 October 199. (4) Cleopatra was not immediately incorporated in the dynastic cult after her marriage with Ptolemy in winter 194/3.
