Abstract

To comply with the different needs of current library users, a librarian should have the vision to refurbish a library according to the changing needs. Planning and utilizing library space involves not only arranging available materials and different areas, but also showcasing them to users in a way that remains relevant, vibrant, and responsive. This chapter focuses on how to lay the foundation of a modern library with the help of today’s modern technology in the joint endeavor of an architect, an interior designer, and a librarian. It also examines, observes, and highlights the different initiatives adopted by the libraries and the ideas behind them in the city of Ahmedabad, India.
