Abstract

Modern librarianship is tremendously evolving within the continuously changing online environment and the advancement of recent digital technologies plays a significant role in information management. This work explores the concepts of “web literacy” and “cybersecurity” and presents the strategies followed by libraries and librarians to face all the new challenges related to these concepts. Librarians and information scientists are located at the center of information preservation and technological integration as libraries increasingly implement digital platforms in the library’s services. This work explores the significance of web literacy competencies, including the ability to navigate the digital landscape critically, and makes use of cybersecurity measures, which will offer safe and secure ways to protect digital collections as well as the privacy of library patrons. Through a comprehensive exploration of these interconnected themes, this research contributes to a more profound comprehension of the evolving responsibilities and challenges encountered by librarians in ensuring the secure and efficient management of information resources in a digitally driven environment.
