Abstract
This chapter explores the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence tools on library services. Ten prominent AI tools are introduced, highlighting their diverse functionalities and applications in enriching the library experience. These tools empower information retrieval, user inquiries, personalized recommendations, advanced search, accessibility, conversational interfaces, task automation, learning initiatives, data analysis, and continuous improvement, while real-world scenarios illustrate their practical applications in modernizing libraries. Furthermore, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis is presented to understand the scholarly landscape surrounding library AI tools. The study, encompassing publications from 1994 to 2023 (n=1479), investigates publication growth, influential works and authors, citation impact comparisons across AI tools, emerging research trends, regional perspectives, and critical institutional contributions. The data was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database using a PRISMA flowchart search strategy, while collaboration patterns were analyzed at the authorship and international collaboration levels, employing metrics like Relative Growth Rate, Doubling Time, Annual Ratio of Growth, Annual Growth Rate, Collaboration Index, and Degree of Collaboration. International collaboration was assessed by identifying author affiliations, while VOSviewer and 4Biblioshny software were used for network visualization. The analysis revealed a high average citation count (41.84 per document) within the dataset, indicating a relevant research field. While publication numbers have steadily increased, the annual growth rate shows a decline (−5.52%). The analysis also identified a preference for collaborative research (average co-authors: 4.56), with a significant portion involving international collaboration (30.49%).
