This chapter is in the book Inner Development Goals

Abstract

The Seasonal Circles of Change invite us into a transformational journey of growth, connection, and co-creation by engaging with the natural rhythms of the earth. Nature becomes our guide so we can see, understand, and influence patterns. Fostered in partnership with the Inner Development Goals (IDGs), the seasonal cycles provide a path of practice for changemakers who want to co-create change.

This chapter is for changemakers who want to co-create conditions for thriving, together. The root meaning of thrive is “to prosper”. The aim of a prosperous person is to cultivate endurance, dedication, and awareness by remembering the presence and possibilities within each person (Bhajan, 2013). When changemakers thrive, their communities thrive. Thriving together emphasizes the importance of healing while creating the conditions for the collective well-being of our communities. Rupa Marya and Raj Patel (2021) call for a return to our true selves through creating communities of care that put the intelligence of life at the center.

The Seasonal Circles of Change process puts nature at the center so we can co-create conditions to thrive, together. The process encourages us to create into our full potential, rather than fix something we see as broken. This discussion includes stories to illustrate the application of the seasonal cycles in the personal and collective domains and invites changemakers to engage in the practice of leadership so we can align inner motivations with outward action.
