Abstract

This chapter provides an overview of feminist geographers’ approaches to labor by including writings from different subdisciplines. First, it explores the ways feminist labor geographers have challenged binary spatial thinking by focusing on the relational aspects of labor. Second, the chapter outlines how an intersectional approach to labor enables us to unravel embodied differences within the context of global inequalities. And third, it provides an outlook for potential future research directions for feminist political geographers that address shifting labor dynamics in the face of the planetary climate crisis and the rise of artificial intelligence.
