Abstract

Grounded in the resource-based view, this chapter explores the complex dynamics of coopetition and its relationship with firm performance, particularly in the context of resource acquisition and sharing. The chapter examines how coopetition can enhance firm performance through the role of internal moderators, such as employee sharing and knowledge sharing, and external moderators, such as competitive intensity, in shaping the effectiveness of coopetition strategies on firm performance. This chapter offers a novel conceptual framework with potential propositions. By delving into the multifaceted nature of coopetition, the chapter aims to provide insights for firms seeking to navigate the complexities of modern markets and enhance their firm performance. The chapter concludes with managerial implications and suggestions for future research directions, emphasising the importance of strategic adaptability in coopetitive relationships.
