Abstract

This chapter explores the concept and methodology of cuerpo-territorio (body-territory) in Latin American feminist political geography. Originating from Indigenous feminist cosmologies, it can serve as a decolonizing force within the discipline, embodying political praxis and Indigenous women’s ontological understandings of body and lands as inseparable. The chapter traces its conceptual roots, examines its methodological applications in revealing the intersection of extractive activities and gender-based violence, and explores its expanding global influence across various themes. Through its journey, cuerpo-territorio emerges as a dynamic tool for fresh conceptual insights and innovative research approaches.
