Abstract

This chapter discusses ways of understanding what peace is and how it is made, and how geographers in general but particularly feminist political geographers have contributed to our understanding of peace as always in the making, and as an ongoing uneven spatial process. The subfield of feminist geopolitics is discussed in relation to how it has opened the understanding of who can make peace(s) and how. Alter-geopolitics, a type of feminist geopolitics, focuses particularly on the making of alternative grassroots securities. Peace is always made, and made again, and we can all be part of that making.
