Phytochemicals in Medicinal Plants
This chapter is in the book Phytochemicals in Medicinal Plants

Abstract

Terpenes, alkaloids, flavonoids, and other active phytoconstituents are found in medicinal plants. They can demonstrate potential medical applications as antimicrobial, anti-malaria, antidiabetic, anticancer, antidepressant, and antifungal due to the presence of active ingredients. There is a need for avoidance and conversion of conventional medicinal herbs because of these unique qualities. Knowledge about cultivation, diversity, and local medicinal plants is fundamental in this regard. The current review study focuses mostly on the topics mentioned above from antiquity to modernity.
