Über diese Zeitschrift
The journal published all abstracts of the 14th International Congress of the PSOGI/ISSPP “Peritoneal Surface Malignancies – Entering the Era of Multidisciplinarity and Precision Medicine” as a separate supplement in the 2024 volume.
On that occasion, we are delighted to announce that the journal awards full waivers to the 3 best submissions from the event, as judged by a jury of members of the journal’s Editorial Board. The journal further awards 1 full waiver to the presenter of an excellent poster at the Congress. Please submit your manuscript online: https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/pap and indicate your participation in the conference in the cover letter.
Objective
Pleura and Peritoneum is the official journal of the International Society for the Study of Pleura and Peritoneum (ISSPP).
Peritoneal and pleural infections and oncological diseases often result in life-threatening conditions. However, the pleura (serous membrane, which forms the lining of the pleural cavity) and the peritoneum (serous membrane, which forms the lining of the abdominal cavity) have been relatively poorly studied, as compared to other organs. In sharp contrast to the skin, which is recognized as an organ and object of a medical specialty, pleura and peritoneum are only considered as membranes. This might be explained by the fact that these organs cannot be seen, neither by clinical examination nor by radiological methods. Pleura and Peritoneum wants to change this by creating a high-level exchange platform for basic scientists, clinical researchers and physicians.
Pleura and Peritoneum is published quarterly. All contributions submitted for publication in Pleura and Peritoneum are subject to single-anonymized peer review by at least two experts in the field, selected and invited by the Editor-in-Chief. Pleura and Peritoneum publishes only English-language articles.
Pleura and Peritoneum is an open access journal. To sustain the publication of all fully peer-reviewed manuscripts, each article accepted for publication in Pleura and Peritoneum is subject to an article processing charge (APC), paid by authors' affiliated institutions, funders, sponsors or institutions that have an agreement with us.
