Call for Papers: Special Issue "Exercise and Multi-Omics: From Molecules to Health"
Translational Exercise Biomedicine (TEB) is launching a special issue under the banner of "Exercise and Multi-Omics: From Molecules to Health". Recognising the burgeoning application of OMIC techniques in exercise sciences, TEB aims to offer a conduit for publication in terms of mechanistic discovery, diagnostic / prognostic biomarker development, and personalized medicine. For this issue we welcome all types of articles, whether single or multi-OMICS, at the interface of exercise and OMICS. This encompasses genomics / epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and microbiomics. Manuscripts with a strong translational steer and route to clinical impact are particularly welcome.
Objective
Translational Exercise Biomedicine (TEB) is an international interdisciplinary journal focused on exercise interventions and the underlying mechanisms for improving human health. The journal aims to bridge gaps between knowledge and practice and provide a specific platform for translational research in this field. The editorial board consists of renowned researchers from various countries, facilitating international dissemination and contribution. The journal is owned by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Guangzhou Sport University. Additionally, TEB is endorsed by the Global Alliance for the Promotion of Physical Activity as the official partner journal.
Aims & scope
Translational Exercise Biomedicine is a peer-reviewed, open access, academic journal, which aims to bridge the gap between mechanistic research and its application to human healt h and clinical practice with a focus on understanding the therapeutic benefits of exercise and improvement of exercise prescription.
Fields of particular interest to the journal include (but are not limited to):
- Integrated exercise physiology, biology, and pathophysiology in health and disease
- Personalized and advanced exercise prescription for health and chronic diseases
- Physical activity/inactivity and health across the lifespan
- Sports medicine and movement science
- Interaction of exercise with diet, nutrition and/or medication
- Exercise and E-health, M-health, AI and technology
Translation means different things in different contexts. As the concept of "exercise is medicine" has grown in recent years, there is an urgent need for translational research in the field of exercise that bridges the gaps between basic scientific discoveries (e.g., detailing the physiological and molecular responses to exercise) and its appli cation to improving human health and targeting specific disease pathophysiology. Translational research is also needed to bridge the gap between clinical trials describing the health benefits of exercise to changes in clinical practice, health promotion and exercise guidelines.
