Zusammenfassung Für die Flachheitsanalyse werden verallgemeinerte Jacobi-Matrizen genutzt, deren Einträge nichtkommutative Ore-Polynome darstellen. Basierend auf einer Verallgemeinerung des Satzes von der Umkehrabbildung für dynamische Systeme wird ein bekanntes Flachheitskriterium neu eingeordnet und ein Werkzeug zur Verifikation vorgestellt. Durch Beispiele veranschaulichte Schwächen des Zugangs bezüglich der Flachheitsanalyse werden diskutiert, was die vielfach belegte Nützlichkeit zur Bestimmung flacher Ausgänge jedoch nicht trübt. Die dafür nötige Vorgehensweise wird beschrieben und auf die Berechnung flacher Eingänge übertragen.

By calculating the state from past output samples, Newton observers (NO) provide an intuitive approach to state estimation in nonlinear systems. However, due to their sensitivity to measurement noise, they failed to become established. Unscented Kalman filters (UKF), on the other hand, have proven to provide good noise attenuation and perform well if the underlying system is highly nonlinear. These benefits, however, come at the cost of a, sometimes long, settling time. We propose a modified filtering algorithm that builds upon both the unscented transformation used in UKF and the rationale of the NO. By leveraging the information contained in the output progression, the new filter obtains the immediacy of the NO and improved steady-state noise suppression. State estimation with the proposed algorithm is investigated both in a large-scale simulation study and in experiments with a physical gantry crane model.

An individualized production is needed to manufacture products with a batch size of up to 1 at low costs. To ensure that the individual steps in the production process are executed for each individual product, the products have to be classified beforehand. For complex problems, machine vision can be used in conjunction with machine learning (ML) to classify the individual components. Here, models of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) in par-ticular achieve high classification accuracies. However, they require high computational cost, which makes it more challenging to execute CNNs in real-time within a PLC runtime environment and synchronize them with motion control tasks. In this paper, a methodology is presented using a production-oriented application example to minimize the inference time of a CNN models for image classification while maximizing the classification accuracy. The presented methodology demonstrates how computationally cost intensive CNNs can be optimized for real-time image recognition in coordination with machine and motion control tasks. The execution times as well as the achieved accuracies of the CNNs are measured. The results show that the CNNs trained on a synthetic CAD dataset are able to reliably classify individual products with an accuracy of 100 % in less than 185 µs (with an image size of 39 × 26 × 1 pixel).

Due to their complexity, various tasks in production technology are still carried out manually. Support by robotic systems often fails due to the high safety requirements and the associated integration costs. In this paper, a novel agent-based approach for the design and integration of human-robot teams is presented, which models the autonomous behavior and task sharing between humans and robots symmetrically and structures it on several levels. An essential component here is the uniform description of human and robotic context-specific autonomous skills and the software modules realized with them, which can be freely configured for the respective task, taking into account the respective safety conditions. The reusability of interoperable software modules saves costs and ensures interchangeability between different manufacturers and systems. The approach is implemented using the example of a collaborative assembly scenario and demonstrated for the assembly of a toy truck in the SmartFactory Kaiserslautern.

When designed to meet users’ needs and consider their environment, wheelchairs have the capability to increase participation and positively affect the users’ quality of life. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques has tremendous potential to enhance the intelligence aspect of powered wheelchairs (PW) by providing solutions to predict harms, collect a variety of data, including new and existing data, and contribute to comfort improvement initiatives. However, the use of existing intelligent PW (IPW) can be challenging and can pose safety concerns while not fully meeting user needs. A literature search was conducted in July 2024, using three databases: Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. Articles were included if they reported improvements in IPWs based on AI techniques and user-centered design. Technological advancements based on AI techniques will allow IPWs to offer a better quality of life to their users by addressing the challenges they face in real settings. This scoping review found that efforts are being made to provide tools for route navigation, train users to operate IPWs in various situations, offer multiple control options, and improve comfort while preventing pressure ulcers due to limited mobility.

Zusammenfassung In der Dissertation geht es um Quality of Service (QoS) in hybriden industriellen Netzwerken mit 5G-Mobilfunk und Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN). Die Zuordnung der jeweiligen Parameter und Mechanismen für ein gemeinsames QoS-Modell bzw. Datenverkehrskonzept wurden bislang nicht wissenschaftlich fundiert untersucht. Zur Lösung dieser Problemstellung gilt es die folgenden Fragen zu klären: Wie lassen sich TSN als kabelgebundene und 5G-Mobilfunk als drahtlose Kommunikationsstandards so kombinieren, dass ein für Industrie 4.0 geeignetes Datenverkehrskonzept entsteht? Nach welchen Anforderungen lassen sich Anwendungsfälle für die Integration von 5G in TSN charakterisieren? Welche Faktoren spielen für eine einsatzfähige Lösung einer vollintegrierten industriellen 5G-TSN-Netzwerkarchitektur eine Rolle? Wie sieht ein ganzheitliches Datenverkehrskonzept basierend auf den Kommunikationsanforderungen der Applikationen kombiniert mit der Netzwerkarchitektur aus? Inwiefern ist dieses Datenverkehrskonzept umsetzbar?

Zusammenfassung Diese Dissertation untersucht, wie drahtlose Kommunikationssysteme (WCS) mithilfe digitaler Zwillinge modelliert und verwaltet werden können, um die notwendige Flexibilität in der modernen industriellen Automatisierung zu ermöglichen. Angesichts der zunehmenden Variantenvielfalt in der Produktion müssen Kommunikationsnetze dynamisch auf unterschiedliche Anwendungsanforderungen und sich verändernde Funkbedingungen reagieren. Der vorgestellte Ansatz nutzt die Asset Administration Shell (AAS), um digitale Repräsentationen der Kommunikationskomponenten zu erstellen. Diese Zwillinge ermöglichen Simulation, Überwachung und Anpassung von Kommunikationsparametern und fördern die Abstimmung zwischen Anwendung und Netz. Simulationen und Praxisszenarien zeigen, dass digitale Zwillinge die Widerstandsfähigkeit und Effizienz drahtloser Netzwerke verbessern und somit einen Beitrag zu anpassungsfähigen, selbstverwaltenden und zukunftsfähigen Lösungen im Sinne von Industrie 4.0 leisten.
