Abstract

The crystal structure of d-leucyl glycine hydrobromide C8N2O3H16Br has been established using three-dimensional data. The crystals are orthorhombic with space group P212121, and a = 13.05, b = 17.48 and c = 5.00 Å. The final R value for the entire set of 1025 reflections, uncluding the unobserved reflections, is 0.115. A brief discussion of the backbone and side-chain conformation of the molecule is given. All the five protons available in the structure for the formation of hydrogen bonds are used up in the formation of a three-dimensional network of intermolecular hydrogen bonds, thereby stabilizing the structure.
