Metallboranate und Boranatometallate, 25. 25Mg-Kernresonanzuntersuchungen an Magnesiumboranaten [1]

25Mg NMR spectroscopy has been used to study the solution behaviour of Mg(BH4)2 · 3 THF, RMg(BH4) · nL (L = various ethers) and ROMg(BH4) · nL. While the solution state of Mg(BH4)2·3 THF remains unchanged in THF or benzene, Schlenk type equilibria are observed for RMg(BH4) compounds. At low temperatures Mg(BH4)2 · nL and MgR2 · nL are the preferred constituents in solution. In contrast, the dimeric ROMg(BH4) compounds do not disproportionate into Mg(OR)2 · nL and Mg(BH4)2 · nL.
