The Relevance of Psalm 145 and Jeremiah 10:1–16 to the Dating of the Doxologies in Daniel 2–6

Abstract
Redaction critics have dated the doxologies in Daniel 4–6 based on the theme of God’s eternal kingdom, which they share with Psalm 145. This article attempts to show that there are many other linguistic features and theological assertions shared by the doxologies in Daniel 2–6 and Psalm 145, as well as the doxologies in Jeremiah 10:1–16, which might be relevant to dating the composition of the doxologies in Daniel 2–6. Their occurrence in the apocalyptic vision in Daniel 7 suggests that the author/redactors of Daniel 7 might be responsible for the doxologies in Daniel.
Zusammenfassung
Redaktionskritische Analysen haben die Doxologien in Daniel 4–6 auf der Grundlage des Motivs des ewigen Reiches Gottes datiert, das sie mit Psalm 145 teilen. Dieser Artikel versucht zu zeigen, dass es viele andere sprachliche Merkmale und theologische Aussagen gibt, die die Doxologien in Daniel 2–6 und Psalm 145 sowie die Doxologien in Jeremia 10,1–16 verbinden und die für die Datierung der Doxologien in Daniel 2–6 relevant sein könnten. Ihr Vorkommen in der apokalyptischen Vision in Daniel 7 legt nahe, dass der Autor/die Redakteure von Daniel 7 für die Doxologien in Daniel verantwortlich sein könnten.
Résumé
Les critiques de la rédaction ont daté les doxologies de Daniel 4–6 sur la base du thème du royaume éternel de Dieu, qu’elles partagent avec le Psaume 145. Cet article tente de montrer qu’il existe de nombreuses autres caractéristiques linguistiques et affirmations théologiques communes aux doxologies de Daniel 2–6 et au Psaume 145, ainsi qu’aux doxologies de Jérémie 10:1–16, qui pourraient être pertinentes pour dater la composition des doxologies de Daniel 2–6. Leur présence dans la vision apocalyptique de Daniel 7 suggère que l’auteur ou les rédacteurs de Daniel 7 pourraient être responsables des doxologies de Daniel.
