General

The 44th IUPAC World Chemistry Congress and the 47th IUPAC General Assembly are organized by the Turkish Chemical Society and will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, between August 11–16, 2013.

The main topic of the congress is “Clean Energy Through Chemistry”. The talks and subtopics will be decided upon by a greater scientific committee consisting of members from all IUPAC National Adhering Organizations and members from the divisions of IUPAC. The wide collaboration of this larger scientific committee will increase overall scientific cooperation and the success of the meetings.

Scientific program

The scientific program will follow the traditional structure of plenary, keynote, oral and poster presentations. Four Nobel Laureates in chemistry and other distinguished chemists will be plenary and keynote speakers during the congress.

Ryoji Noyori

Ada Yonath

Aaron Ciechanover

Alan J. Heeger

The program will be set up around several themes, among which ‘Clean Energy through Chemistry’, ‘Green Sustainable and Environmental Chemistry’ and many others.

Eight symposia will be held with a wide range of topics.
