e-Folklore in the Age of Globalization

Abstract
The article deals with problems of globalization in relation to mass und popular culture, and in particular to electronic folklore. Emphasis is put on phenomena such as terrorism and online dating. The author quotes jokes, riddles, stories and other genres circulated on the Internet through e-mails and by mobile phones. She also discusses visual folklore (photomontages, etc.). Collected in Poland, the material belongs to global folklore in electronic circulation.

L'article réfléchit sur des problèmes de mondialisation dans la culture des masses et la culture populaire et en particulier dans le folklore électronique, en mettant l'accent sur des phénomènes comme le terrorisme et la mise en relations par Internet. L'auteur cite des plaisanteries, devinettes, histoires et d'autres genres qui circulent par courrier électronique et par portable. Elle discute également le folklore visuel (photomontages etc.). Recueilli en Pologne, le matériel appartient au folklore mondial en circulation électronique.
Zusammenfassung
Der Artikel behandelt Probleme der Globalisierung, wie sie sich in der Kultur der Massen und der populären Kultur und insbesondere in der elektronischen Folklore widerspiegeln. Im Vordergrund stehen Phänomene wie der Terrorismus und Internet-Kontaktbörsen. Die Autorin zitiert Witze, Rätsel, Geschichten und andere Gattungen, die per e-mail und Handy kursieren. Auch die visuelle Folklore (Photomontagen etc.) wird einbezogen. Das in Polen gesammelte Material gehört zu einer weltweit verbreiteten Folklore, die elektronisch in Umlauf ist.
